On the 19-25 August 2018, the International Centre for Cultural Studies (IFK) will host a summer school in Linz, Upper Austria. This years’ issue will be “Models of affinity: Friendship, relatives, networks.” The courses are determined in particular for up-and-coming young scientists and artists in the field of cultural studies and aim to introduce the participants to new perspectives on the question of affinity. -What is affinity? Is it possible to “belong” to a state, culture or religion? How did affinity change through the rise of globalization and mobility?- these and many more gripping issues will be in the center of discussion. The courses will be held in German, however, applications of international students are also welcome. The deadline is the 18th March, 2018.
